Wool and Linen\u00a0\u00bb<\/h1>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/biennaledulin.com\/marjolein-dallinga-gore-quebec\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">at the <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/biennaledulin.com\/marjolein-dallinga-gore-quebec\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Portneuf <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/biennaledulin.com\/marjolein-dallinga-gore-quebec\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">linen Biennale, which will take place from June 15 to September 29, 2019!<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>\u00ab\u00a0Never ask your way to someone who knows it, because you could not go astray\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Rabbi Nachman<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3>The detours of the heart, its secret folds.<\/h3>\n<p lang=\"en-US\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Abyssinica SIL;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"color: #454545;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">With this theme \u00ab\u00a0Byways and drifways\u00a0\u00bb, I went simply playing with wool &#8211; an animal fiber &#8211; and with flax &#8211; a plant fiber.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Abyssinica SIL;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"color: #454545;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Everything in my work expresses something both animal and vegetative world so the amalgamation of these two materials seems to me very appropriate because these two mediums wool and linen &#8211; carry well their characteristic and specific messages.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Abyssinica SIL;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"color: #454545;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">For the realization of this work, I started my path simply with a thick black rope in which I amalgamated the animal fibers of wool and linen , a vegetal material , using the technique of felting which is the perfect technique to combine both materials<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #454545;\"> .<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Abyssinica SIL;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"color: #454545;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Very quickly this rope <\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #454545;\"><span lang=\"es-ES-u-co-trad\">continued<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #454545;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"> into another rope that then made detours, junctions, took the wrong paths, <\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #454545;\">entangled &#8230;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Abyssinica SIL;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"color: #454545;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">, separations &#8230; Borrowed new paths &#8230; the colors have changed but also the widths, the thicknesses and even the shapes have changed!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h3>A metamorphosis certainly!<\/h3>\n<p lang=\"en-US\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Abyssinica SIL;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"color: #454545;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Without a predetermined plan, my journey<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #454545;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"> was<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #454545;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"> more spontaneous, more intuitive, I continued my creative process and my work finally began to look like multiple roots but also <\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #454545;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">like<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #454545;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"> veins, arteries and <\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #454545;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">finally like <\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #454545;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">a heart, multiple metaphors &#8230;..<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_4346\" style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/biennaledulin.com\/marjolein-dallinga-gore-quebec\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4346\" class=\"wp-image-4346 size-large\" title=\"Felting is an ancient technique that allows unlimited freedom in the creative process, while requiring a very limited mechanical intervention, unlike work on a loom. Marjolein also felt that this medium represented a medium in which she could express her creativity as she had done in her painting.
