FELT IN FORM, SCULPTURAL WET FELTING WORKSHOP <\/span><\/span>WITH MARJOLEIN DALLINGA<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Marjolein Dallinga studied visual arts, painting and drawing in the Netherlands. She is currently based in Canada. She has been working with felt for the last 25 years. She has worked as a costume designer for companies like the Cirque du Soleil, theatre, wearable art shows and film productions. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0At the Cirque I worked several years on many experiments with felting techniques, this has greatly stretched my art to new horizons.\u00a0<\/b><\/i>\u00bb<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The last decade her work moved back towards visual art with large felted sculptures and wall pieces. Her work was exhibited in many international <\/span><\/span>exhibitions, solo and as part of a selected group. She has been teaching the art of sculptural felting for the last 15 years around the globe as in his own personal studio. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This 3- day workshop will deepen the consciousness about experiences learned from sculpting with felt and other fibers. We will explore different sculptural form ideas with themes like folding and unfolding, building relief, adding shape to another surface\u2026All to become more aware of how, and why, we want to use this medium. This workshop is inspired by ideas to make a three dimensional sculpture. We will play with the processes of shortening, thickening, tightening and shrinking of felted surfaces. Focus on basics like color, design, and conceptions of an artwork. Some felting experience required. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Felting experience is required<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n

Easy to learn but endless in possibilities makes this medium an invitation for all to discover our inner creativity and joy to create with our own hands. An art form in which we experience a kind of metamorphoses of the soft wool fibers into a solid three dimensional creations. The quite physical aspects of felting makes this art a real \u00ab\u00a0hands on \u00a0\u00bb experience<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

2. Once you have received confirmation of your place, pay 50% of the total price of the workshop. The rest must be paid before July 15th.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

3. Cancellation policy: before June 15th, 90% of the amount paid will be refunded. Between June 15th and August 1st: 50% of the amount paid will be refunded. After August 1st, no amount will be refunded unless the place is filled, in which case 50% of the amount paid will be refunded.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

4. If the ACT cancels the workshop for any reason, the full amount paid will be refunded.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
